LEGISLATIVE VISITS

SUGGESTIONS AND GUIDELINES

• Set appointment with local office
• Take students with DECA blazers on
• Take brochures---examples of students’ work (projects)
• Prepare!!! Each student should have a short statement about what DECA/marketing education program has meant to his/her education experience and future goals
• Take photos!! (legislators LOVE the publicity)
• Write thank you notes as a follow up (preferably from each student)

DECA week in October would be an excellent time to visit your senator and representative. This is NOT a partisan issue—this is vital to marketing education and career-technical education survival!!
